Where we’re going
Several years ago it was clear that the young men of the church were struggling with the challenges most young men face but that church had become irrelevant and inaccessible for them. The leadership knew something had to be done so Barbarians began. At first just a small group in someone’s front room it began to bring identity, purpose and opportunity to these young men. It was a laugh, different and accessible but more than anything it unlocked a brash, untamed passion for God.
The group grew; evolving and influencing as it did, soon clear that it was not something just for the younger generation. It was opened up to the older guys at church and the culture soon spread. Barbarians started to shape peoples vision for their lives, corporate worship, prayer, marriage and relationships, parenting and so much more. It has become a group of dangerously honest men who strive to rediscover who they are truly meant to be. Meeting at least twice a month Barbarians has become a rock for support, challenge and inspiration.
